Lending a Hand in Honduras

Speaking to the students at Roswell High School Interact monthly meeting, Roswell Rotarian Terry Taylor shared the background on Lunches for Learning. Lunches for Learning exists to break the cycle of poverty in rural Honduras by providing a healthy lunch for elementary school children at their school every day. This allows the students to stay in school, so they can complete their education and enter the workforce as literate individuals. As Roswell Rotary sponsors a school in Honduras, this program is supported through the efforts in many in our club.

After learning of the need and how they can help, the Roswell High School Interact Club stepped up to sponsor one child for a year. The sponsorship cost is $150 annually. The fifty-five-students decided to donate their monies from dues that each had contributed to. The generosity of these young people will make a significant difference in the lives of others.
